Bird Woman

She is a woman who knows her own mind. Passille de Sylvestre created this beautiful brooch in the 60-70’s in Quebec. It is a Modernist mid-century abstract enamel pin. The fabrics chosen for this Pochette draw from the strong colors of black, gold and green of her face, hair and of course, the bird. Black leather is introduced in the cording and handle. The branches and leaves that weave in and out on the front of the purse are imaginary places for the bird to roost. The back is a pattern of mini medallions on black.  The lining lustrous gold. The strap is a weaving of black leather, heart shaped black beads and beads of gold and measures 25” from end to end. The bag measures 11.5” across the bottom, 9.5” across the top and is 6.5” high. THIS IS TRULY WEARABLE ART.
